Re: [RC] Fear - Karen Sullivanbut the good thing about those sorts of "unplanned dismounts" is that they tend to happen when you are relaxed, and in my experience, at least, tend to be limited to a few bruises and a wounded ego. And since one isn't badly injured, it is possible to get back on the horse right then (or shortly after, if it takes a few minutes to catch up with him) while the adrenalin is still up a bit and the fear has not had time to take root and fester. Heidi *Hey, this is so true, although the one time the 5 year old got me off.....was a fast spin at some birds; I was riding alone on a windy day and unfortunately got dumped on a very hard road (left shoulder hurt for months). My mare was startled by me being deposited on the ground; she trotted away then stopped and turned and looked at me.....THANK goodness I trained this mare to come to a special call for a carrot....I called her, she came to me and I gave her the carrot i always try to remember to carry in the saddle.....
