Re: [RC] Boa Boots - website - Karen Sullivan----- Original Message ----- From: "Karen" <karen@xxxxxxxxxxx> Hi Barbara -- I can show you several things you can do that will keep that problem from occurring again. The best advice I can give people is to ride their horses in their easyboots ahead of time. As friends were planning a fun ride yesterday, and my mare had front shoe missing, farrier had not come out yet, I decided to cram on easyboot and give it a try, see how far we got before it fell off! So, here is my quick routine for putting one on by someonw who hardly does it. 1. clean hoof well and wrap whole hoof/heel with vet wrap (at least 4-5 wraps). 2. Put thin nylon strap around heel strap of boot. 3. Seat boot over toe and HAMMER on; forcing hoof into boot (which will seem snug) 4. have cables pre-wound around little dohookey where they attatch 5. haveing cables fairly right, step down on lever with foot. 6. have husband hold up opposite leg while you pull the heel strap up with nylon strap, then pull nylon strap out. We did a 15 mile ride, through a lot of creeks and mucky spots, and did some trotting and cantering. the boot stayed ON!!! other Karen =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
