Hi Barbara -- I can show you several things you can do that will keep that problem from occurring again. The best advice I can give people is to ride their horses in their easyboots ahead of time. Most horses do seem to adapt to them fairly quickly. Some quicker than others. It is especially important for the ones that don't take to them right away that they get some time in them so that the riders can work out the problems that particular horse has (it's not really a problem, just an opportunity to find a solution!). Sometimes just simple adjustments can be made. Othertimes it is knowing how the horse is going to move in them and what not to do (like don't go galloping full tilt up a boggy hill, or canter on a particular lead) in order to keep the boots on during an actual ride. It is also a good idea to have some training time in the boots ahead of time not just for the horses comfort but so that the rider is used to how the horse moves in them, looks in them (say you put one on for a loose shoe at a ride and the horse still trots a little uneven, if you've trotted the horse previously with one boot on and it trotted that same way you'd know it was okay and if not then you'd know that too). Plus, sometimes in the learning process a boot may come off and often once you go back and find it you'll go "oh yeah, the horse did a little jump or 'thing' right here in this spot", so you will learn how to recognize and be aware/pay attention for stuff like that.
