Re: [RC] Boa Boots - website - Barbara McCraryI've experienced this, soreness caused by pressure of the heel gripper on an Easyboot. Had to put one on a mare I was riding in a 50-miler. She pulled a shoe at 11 miles from the start. She finished the ride in the Easyboot just fine, but when the boot was removed, she was sore. The vet understood the problem and gave her a completion anyway. It's not something I would like to have happen again.....too much like wearing a tight pair of shoes on a long hike. It will be interesting to see how that affects the back of the horses feet after lots of use. Maybe the feet will need to be wrapped in vetwrap or something for doing 50's. Some horses can't handle the heel pressure of easyboots, and I would guess that the overall pressure applied to the back of foot with a Boa boot would be less, and/or the pressure is going to be applied over a larger area. May work well for some horses, and not others. Karen in NV =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
