As for using radio or telephone communications between horse
and rider during a competition; this has been extensively
discussed in the past and the general consensus was that the
AERC Rule 6. (k) covers the prohibition of such acts.

I saw riders using GPS and walkie talkies to communicate
with their crew on the S2S (and my story is coming, I
promise, I just haven't had the time to get to it) and have
also seen riders using cell phones.  I don't see how they
could have a rule against it.  I hope not...I want that
