[RC] Drugs/Allergies/Rules - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Jeanne Pepper pepperja@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Thanks for the quick reply Heidi but I have to question your responce that maybe this horse isn't suited to compete because he has an allergy to flies???So he should live out his days doing what?Pasture pet??This horse is a kiger mustang, from some of the most rugged country in the nation. His energy level is actually higher than my Arabs(& he's no slouch!)with near perfect conformation, huge legs & feet, long stride & bold attitude,he is the perfect example of endurance potential.Personally,I have to use an inhaler, take copious amounts of anti-inflamitories and deal with chronic pain from old injuries to get through every ride & though I WOULD NEVER ask any horse of mine to endure what I do ,I would also never prevent him the chance to experience the life of an endurance horse which to my mind is the BEST life a horse can have,(at least the life I offer MY horses.)You may say that he doesn't choose to compete but horses do appear to enjoy going down the trail and he does sulk when he's left behind.I do everything I can to ensure my horses are happy & healthy & I have also always followed AERC rules so I will the right thing here and hopefully we'll be heading down the trail in 3 more years. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
