I can't speak for Sug, but it appeared to me that she was just making a point 
of comparison when she said:

"Almost 100% a blown aneurysm, and a coincidence that it occurred to an 
endurance horse at Tevis instead of a dink standing in pasture at home".

She wasn't saying that we shouldn't feel just as bad about a dink in the 
pasture dying - what she was saying is that it could happen to any horse- 
endurance or otherwise.
