Re: [RC] re: Loco Weed - Ed & Wendy Hauser"...I would be interested to know what the protocol for use was, and what weeds they were treating with it..." I don't have the literature he handed out, as I was not interested in using it. His main point is that it is a nonselective herbicide, like Roundup, and was not economical. I'm sure that there are applications where it is the chemical of choice. Of the chemicals you mentioned, Tordon is the least toxic to mammals, but the worst to use around water that is why it is a registered pesticide in the USA (As was mentioned earlier, CA is much more restrictive). If it gets into a water table, it will kill things like tomatoes, potatoes, and willow trees for years. (It may have other effects on fish etc. but would have to look it up.) The PPE I recommended is indeed the minimum recommended for all of the herbicides. My post related to the fact that some people think that since Acetic Acid is concentrated vinegar, it is "natural", "organic", and "safe". It is just as much a chemical as the others and has a nasty set of immediate biohazards all of its own.
