Re: [RC] re: Loco Weed - Ed & Wendy Hauser"...with 20% acetic acid (strong 'vinegar' ..." While it sounds innocent, 20% acetic acid is a very dangerous chemical. It will completely remove your skin in a minute or so. One drop in the eye and you will be a candidate for a corneal transplant. Please use proper PPE (personal protective equipment). At a minimum, goggles or safety glasses with side shields, chemical rated rubber gloves, rubber boots, and cover the rest of skin with clothing. If you get some on you, even if there is no immediate pain, wash in running water for 15-20 minutes. Be sure you have someone handy who is big enough to hold you down and rinse your eye in case you get some in it. You will be in so much pain you will not be able to rinse your own eye! On the up side, once it is diluted it is no longer particularly harmful. Ed PS. I am a retired industrial chemist. This advice is straight from the safety training of a fortune 500 company. PPS. The Ravalli County, MT weed specialist has not had good luck with it as a control measure. The amounts required to be effective make the cost per acre quite high.
