I was just looking thru a spring garden catalog and
see they have packages of barley straw for sale to use as "water clarifiers" -
supposed to inhibit algae growth (and be safe for fish, pets). Anyone know
why (or if) barely straw would be helpful in water tanks to keep the algae
down?
