Re: [RC] Whining in the CT Region - Heidi SmithI am a single mom with a 4 year old, <snip> How many folks are in the same situation I am in? Bless you for planning ahead, and not just simply bringing your child to camp and dumping her out for anyone and everyone to look after. That happens more than you might think, and REALLY makes RM's tear their hair! If you have room, bring a teenager that wants a weekend away from home, and pay him/her to babysit. That is often the best solution. If there are others in the same boat, great--maybe you can split the cost, and pay someone enough to be really enticing! Or maybe there is a teen coming along that would like the job--never hurts to ask around. But don't just assume that an otherwise unoccupied teen would be willing to do this, unless you've contacted them in advance. I've watched this scenario from time to time, where particular parents got a reputation of just driving into camp and "drafting" a teen--and you should see the teens scamble to get out of sight when folks like that drive in! I think ride camps in general are a great place for kids--but not for unattended ones. Just get your ducks lined up beforehand, and you should be fine.
