Autopsy generally refers to a post mortem exam/necropsy on a human subject
(the "auto"=self part).  Necropsy just means post mortem exam, though it
usually refers to something other than your own species.  So an autopsy is
always a necropsy, but a necropsy is not necessarily an autopsy.  MUCH
clearer now, eh?  <vbg>

Other than that, I agree with your comments. :-)
