Re: [RC] new Fords versus older Fords - Carol StilesJust saw a news report on Ford pick-ups pre-2000 I believe, and the crash tests were very dismal. In fact, they proved to be fatal. Please check out the NTSB website before buying a used Ford. They have since re-inforced the frame on the newer models to withstand impacts better, but seeing the picture of that crumpled Ford 150 on TV was really scary. It wouldn't be the first time Ford has put out a car it knew was dangerous, ie. the 1960's Pinto and Mustang that didn't have firewalls between the gas tank and passengers. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Sofen" <msofen@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "ridecamp" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, December 24, 2003 5:08 PM Subject: [RC] new Fords versus older Fords For any of you who have previously owned the previous style of Ford F250/350 trucks (1994-97) and now own the new style (1999 and up), do you feel that there are noticeable and worthwhile improvements to the ride, handling, braking, and/or fuel economy, or are they mostly a cosmetic improvement?
