Re: [RC] new Fords versus older Fords - crash safety - Sarah WI saw the news report too .. and actually, the truck only failed the corner impact crash test, but was above standard on the front and side impact tests. They've redesigned the frame with more support structures to prevent a fatal corner crash, however, they will continue to make the non-reinforced version of the truck under the name "F150 Heritage" and it will be the obviously cheaper model. Please check out the NTSB website before buying a used Ford. They have since re-inforced the frame on the newer models to withstand impacts better, but seeing the picture of that crumpled Ford 150 on TV was really scary.
