[RC] kicking filly - A. PerezI just bought an 18 month-old filly ($450... how could I resist? :-) ) named Lexi. She has had very little done with her, and she does not like having her back feet handled. She has some sort of skin-scunge on 3 of her 4 feet at the top and front of her coronet band (scratches?) which is tender, and she kicks back when I apply medicated gel to the area. I don't think she's doing it out of meaness (she does not aim at me, just kicks back), I think she just doesn't know any better. In general she is very friendly, comes when she's called, and is very calm. Not to revive the 'whack-em' debate, but I'd be interested to hear suggestions on how to deal with the kicking.
