Re: [RC] [RC] Horse ordinances - Barbara McCraryI recall a livestock auction yard where we used to sell our calves. It was at the time out in the country, near hills with beautiful oak trees. The neighboring land was subdivided, people built big homes. Then they complained about the smell. It wasn't very long before the auction yard was out of business. I consider this kind of thing absolutely criminal!! Over the years, people have moved in and started up residences and are fighting the university to move the livestock units because of the smell. I know here in Louisiana, once land has been zoned for horses, it cannot be changed, which is why we have lots of stables in the city of New Orleans. I'm not sure if this applies to all livestock in any other states, but the stable owner might look into seeing what the zoning laws are regarding livestock. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= http://www.endurance.net/ads/seabiscuit.html Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
