The horse was euthanized a couple weeks after the ride.

I'm trying not to talk about the details, and let everyone read the 
protest results.  My protest cited cruelty to an equine and 
unsportsmanlike conduct.  The cruelty to an equine part was upheld.  
Unfortunately I did not do a sufficient job of proving unsportsmanlike 
conduct, did learn a lot about how protests are conducted and will do a 
better job if there is ever a next time (as a ride manager, I feel it's 
my responsibility to help keep the sport clean.)
