[RC] Skinny Yearling - Tamara Taylor

Hi RC,

I have a Anglo-Arab x TB-Hannoverian yearling gelding (future dressage and
endurance buddy I hope). He just turned 1 on May 15/03 and is currently
standing approximately 14.3 hh. He had a rough spring and is quite skinny. I
currently have him on pasture plus free-choice alfalfa cubes and 3lb of colt
pellets/sweet feed per day. He has been on this diet for 2 months and is still
ribby. He is dewormed every 4 weeks, in good health (aside from being skinny).
Should I leave him be and chalk it up to he's growing?? Or should I modify his
diet? I was contemplating adding beet pulp to his diet but I am a little
worried about the Ca:P ratio. Should I be adding veggie oil? How much?? Any
suggestions for what and how much I should feed this big baby would be
appreciated.

I'd love to hear if anyone has experience with this kind of cross and endurance.

Thank you very much!

Tamara Taylor and little (er, big) Amos
