Re: [RC] gnats - Rides 2 FarThe horses are really being bothered by gnats -- Is there a certain insect product I should use, or keep face masks on, or...? Could you teach them to smoke cheap cigars? >g< If you have a run-in shed a fan helps. Some horses will stand with their face right in one but mine don't care for it blowing on them. I aim it out over them and they love it. I keep all the manure cleaned out & sawdust down. They stay out all night, but at about 10 AM when the bugs start biting they come in on their own and stay in the shade, nibble hay and doze pest free all day. Keeping the sawdust thick for what stomping they do have to do helps avoid lameness problems. My farrier said lots of abcesses he deals with are from stomping. Can't imagine that concussion on their legs is good in general. Angie ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
