[RC] MY MP/loose horses - Rides 2 FarI agree about the training. A horse needs to be sacked out and be able to handle a rope or anything dangling between it's legs or hanging off it's body, etc. I believe this mare touched the electric fence. Hard to train them to ignore that. I think the next time I manage a ride I'll have one person whose job is to inspect containtment arrangements. Their job would be to make people with saggy high lines tighten them up, uncharged fences turn them on (or tie up their horses). Make people tie up the horse they leave behind screaming and running back & forth in a flimsy corral while they take his buddies on a ride, separate horses who are fighting inside a communal corral. Sure, sometimes things just happen, but sometimes you can see them coming and those are the situations that we've got to do something about. As to MP not being a good place for new horses, I disagree. It wasn't even crowded this year and if you plan to have loose horses running around it's nice to have those trees for them to dodge and for you to get behind.
