At our rides here in Michigan (MW region), we have two vets, one for CTR and
one for endurance.  They each do their own scoring.  Some bigger rides have
even 3 or 4 vets.  I don't see the problem in having them also do BC scoring
for an LD.  One vet once gave BC to the first horse to pulse down...I won it
but it did not, of course, count in any way towards AERC points.  I don't
like that...if you give a BC, SCORE it the way it should be scored.  I offer
awards for 1st, BC and high vet score at our ride for both LD and endurance.
They all deserve recognition.
