Re: [RC] Sanctioning riders - Truman Prevatt
There are procedures that can be followed in order to deal with type of
thing. However, the AERC rules are very specific about " ... entry
cannot be denied without cause..." - I'm sure Bob will give us the rule
number :-). So this would probably end up in the lap of the protest
committee for final resolution. The RM can file a protest based on
"unsportman like conduct" which has been done it the past.
The procedures are in place, concerned people need to use them.

There have been several posts recently that made me wonder
about how and when aerc sanctions riders. The first post
was about a rider knowingly taking a horse infected with
strangles to rides, more recent posts were about riders
refusing to pull exhausted horses.
Is there any process by which an RM can report such behavior
to AERC? It seems to me that AERC should be able to ban riders
from any AERC sanctioned events for some offenses. To me,
knowlingly taking a horse with a highly contageous disease
woudl be such an offense.
