Ridecamp: [RC] Need Bail, quick

Well to continue my saga with the two missing girls in Oregon City.........

First off, has anyone from So. Or. done the Collings Mountain Loop up at the
Applegate Lake? Wow what a ride!! Very technical, hairpin switchbacks,
climbing to the moon, views to die for, bear, hawks, bald eagles, bucks,
Canadian Geese, the entire ride is in deep forest with wild dogwood, ferns,
an old miners cabiin, a Big foot Trap, caves and the biggest scat I have
ever seen.

The trail is really narrow, with either side being straight up or straight
down. Too much loose rock and shale, so footing is precarious. Twice,
Cruiser lost his footing and I thought for sure we were going over the
cliff. I kept thinking of all the advice on RC as far as recovery and
bailing. The forestry does not recommend this trail for horses. Well then,
why do they have it opened to horses? I saw the little horse sign, so
figured we were welcome. Maybe they knew I was coming and put the sign up
with wishful thinking..........hmmm. It was about a 16mile ride and just
beautiful, but not a lot of trotting out, at least not for this chicken.

When you come to the other end of the loop, you cross the road and then
follow the rim trail of the lake back to camp. I was so tempted to go
swimming, but too lazy to untack and retack, plus we still had some distance
and didn't want to chance tying up.

I went on this ride alone and for once I was thinking that if we did go over
the cliff, it would be a long time before anyone found my buzzard picked
bones. It was the fartherest that I have gone into the forest away from
civilization. But whoa! what a good training ride. Hope some of my neighbors
on RC will want to do that ride with me.

Last night as I was having my nightly ritual of Merlot, my son in Portland
calls me at 11pm. I don't get calls that late so figured something happened
to someone.

Man, that kid will never forgive me for spanking him in Toys R Us when he
was seven. He  blasted into me and told me that the FBI was just on the news
about the missing girls in Oregon City. NOW they have the entire place
cordoned off, and as he was telling me this, he said that the news reported
two women snooping around and ransacking the shed. (Thats a lie, we didn't
ransack anything, just peeked at some puppets and dolls)

"THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU, MOM! AND YOUR FRIEND!!"  So? asks me in a
wonderful relaxed state.

Then the kid says, Do you realize that you were being watched by the FBI
that they had cameras on that house at all times?  Do you realize that you
could be arrested for trespassing?  Do you realize that now you embarassed
me by telling the news reporter that I am a Deputy Medical Examiner?  Do
realize my friends are chiding me and telling me why don't you get your mom
hired to crack these cases?  Huh, Huh Huh????

Well EXCUUUUSSSSSEEEE ME! So if the FBI was so concerned, why didn't they
have the joint shut down before DeAnn and I got there? I saw on the news
that some nuts were actually going into the house and taking stuff. Sheesh,
go after them.

So, now Brian is pissed that I may be at best questioned and maybe arrested.
Does he care about my fate......Nooooooo!
He wants me to change my name. Gads, he is starting to sound like his Dad
after I divorced him. No way, Jose, that name, Applegate is the best thing
the jerk gave me, I told him and my son to change their own names, it is my
name, I made it infamous, and I am keeping it.

I ask him if he would bail me out, and he said he will pretend that he
doesn't even know this crazy lady, that I just picked his name to cover my
Arse. Well!!

So, I am asking any of you that really love me to start a little fund, just
in case. Crossing into Canada with a gun, certainly wasn't as serious as
Brian is making this out to be.

DeAnn, what are you getting up your way? Is Brian making this up? I did see
that the FBI has the place fenced off and they are looking into digging up
the concrete slab that we discovered. Maybe they should hire us.

Like I always say, "Rome wasn't built in a day." But if they had a woman in
charge it would have.
