I usually feed good 1st cutting Timothy (from SW
CO) - I've had it tested and the protein and minerals are good.
BUT with the drought I am still waiting to get
Timothy this year. A few weeks ago (when I ran out of last years
hay) I got some 2nd cutting Timothy from last year and am feeding that
along with bermuda free-choice.
This Timothy isn't great, and I'm thinking I might
need to add at least some protein. Don't want to analyze the hay, as I'm
just getting small amounts now hoping for better Timothy later.
Will feeding more beet pulp be good thing right
now? If that won't cover the protein, is their a source other than
alfalfa I can use?
Thanks,
Kathy Kelly
