Schools really are great places to check out if you need a project 
done-particularly if you live in smaller communities. I had a student build 
corral panels for me in welding class (bought the materials and made a donation 
to FFA) and  paid a student to build my cabinets for my horse trailer. Kids are 
often looking for projects and if you provide the materials, you can get some 
excellent/custom work. I usually ask who the  best wood working or welding 
student is and I have never been disappointed.
