Re: [RC] [RC] Techy review - April, you go girl! - AprilThanks, Laura. Glad you enjoyed the review. I am a real geek and part (not all!) of my motivation to do consistent conditioning is my toys. :-) Just so you know, I don't let the 301 "rule" my rides. If terrain or the horse calls for it, we do our own thing and I just let the 301 complain at me for going too fast or too slow. :-) And we do just go out and ride without having a "plan" or a custom workout. The 301 still keeps good data to look at later. I really like the post-ride analysis. Usually I canter my horse for a few minutes, but last fall, I would only canter him for 3 minutes at a time in our training rides. Since getting the 301 and looking at it, I've discovered that Tanna's heart rate starts to go up a little more AFTER 3 minutes. Probably because I had "trained" him to only canter for 3 minutes. Now I'm cantering him for 5 minutes at a time and will keep an eye on his HR and slowly add in more canter time as he adjusts. I think that's pretty cool and something I couldn't put my finger on just using an on-board HRM. I needed the post-ride analysis. Geek, me? Nah! :-) April On Wed, 9 Mar 2005 11:01:58 -0500, Laura Hayes <mark@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Wow!!! I am glad someone is into all this.
