I have the 100-lap model, it has quite a few more features than the 50 lap model, including speed and distance alerts, average speed... lots of other things. I have found it works very well for the rides as you know just where you are in a loop.

I bought mine on the internet from a sporting goods store I got the 100 lap model for the price of the 50 lap model. If you look around there are some great deals on these watches. Try Yahoo shopping, it will give you the lowest price for the item. I think I bought mine from RKP sports or something along those lines.
