[RC] is a horse rough because of conformation,... - A. Perez"is a horse rough because of conformation, or a poor way of moving, or, most likely is it all connected and a combo of both? " First let me say I am merely an 'endurance wannabe'. However I have ridden a great many horses, mostly on the trail, so I have an opinion: feel free to disregard it if you like! Rough gait can be a result of the 'way of moving'. even though rough, that way of moving may not be generally considered 'ppor': I personally find the famous 'arab floating trot' with it's long period of suspension (all four feet off the ground) to be very rough, when compared with the classic hunters 'daisy clipper' long, low, barely-clear-the ground trot. It makes sense: the longer and higher the horses feet are off the ground during suspension, the harder it will come down. Right now I am leasing a mare that has a trot that is lovely to watch: very high knee action and big. It is less fun to ride, especially to sit: that high knee action results in alot of uo-and-down. Rough gait could also be due to imbalance or simle clumsiness, which may improve with time and conditioning. There is no way to tell but wait and see. ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= http://www.endurance.net/ads/seabiscuit.html Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
