Pretty much, the only way to deworm "wrong" is to not do it at all.  Having
said that, I've gotten pretty fond of doing a panacur purge (double dose per
day for 4-5 days), followed a few weeks later by ivermectin.  Even in horses
with negative fecals, they just seem to bloom afterwards.

If you are going to do the panacur purge, it's a lot less expensive to find
a livestock supply house that carries the fenbendazole suspension 1000 ml,
as opposed to ten tubes of the equine paste.  Same stuff and concentration,
just a different carrier, and much cheaper.

I'm not getting much info from my fecal checks on one of my horses, but my
gut feeling is that something is not right in the worming end of things.
(ok, bad pun)

What do you vets think of two doses of Strongid plus plain ol' Ivomec vs.
the Pancur purge as a 'clean out"?
