[RC] [Guest] Horse shootings - Ridecamp Guest

I think this has been going on longer then we thought. Read what was sent to
me today from the Sheriff's Dept. I will call tomorrow to see if the Nevada
City one is seperate from the Grass Valley shooting. And of course now there
is the Roseville shooting, all 2 weeks apart.
"We did not do a press release because this is one isolated case of a
horse being shot. There was a horse shot in the Nevada City area two
weeks ago but we have had no other reports in this County. While I agree
with you this is tragic and being an animal person I cannot for the life
of me figure out why someone would do this we did not want to overreact
to an isolated incident. The other incident in Nevada County was over 50
miles away and we have not been able to establish a nexus. We also did
not want to give publicity to the idiot that did this nor give others
ideas. We were also aware the local horse community was getting the word
out. We are investigating the incident and if we perceive the need for
more public information we will do so immediately.
I hope this explains our actions if you have any questions please don't
hesitate to call me."
