I just wanted to point out that most of the
breeding you're stating here is old and generations
down. Most, if not all quarter horses and paints come from a
small handful of horses. Little Joe, Old Sorrel, King, Three Bars
(which is a thoroughbred). If you are going to look for specific
breeding to throw out, most horses of todays age come from one or most of
what you have stated down the line. And most PMU mares are
percheron or draft breeds, not paints and quarter horses.
There is only a couple farms that have quarter/paint horses they
use. I would say they are using those breeds for PMU for better
adoption possibilities of the foals.

Just to name a few. You are naive if you think that ALL PMU babies find
homes and none end up in the 'kill pen'. I believe there are upwards
of 30,000 produced in Western Canada alone each year. I don't really
find the relevance of saying that Paints and QH aren't over-produced
compared to Arabians. If anything I would say it is the opposite where
I live...most PMU mares have some QH or Paint in them, NOT Arab. And I
think that the whole 'en vogue' thing you mentioned probably has a lot
to do with why these bloodlines have found their way into the PMU
barns and the massive
overproduction.
