Like Mary said, the boarders come first. I've board horses for people and will never do it again. They either don't pay on time or constantly complain. But I notice that they aren't the ones checking their horses on a daily basis either. These people that lump entire groups together crack me up. >> So true. We do not have a "boarding facility," but a rider came by and asked if we could and we said sure. Then we realized how underequipped we were for her. Having boarded our horses before - and been somewhat unhappy - we were determined not to treat our new boarder the way we were treated. We bought a new 5 rail 24x24. Put in a 50 foot round pen. Built her a new 8x8 tack shed and put in her own hitching post beside it. Placed a picnic table and benches out on the back area and planted a garden. It would take YEARS for her board payments to have us break even. LOL But I think she is happy, and I know her horse is. And that was all we wanted. Those who board horses for profit may be suspect, but those who do it 'cause they love horses and horse-people can be all right... :o) Scott =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
