Re: [RC] Paint Alternative Competition points - Lysane CreeWow, I didn't think I was going to get such a response...wasn't even sure I would get a response :) Thanks for the info Penny!! I am in Quebec, Canada (oh my god, an out-of-country person trying to tell APHA what to do! LOL), so I am not sure who the director for my region would be...I think I am in Region 7 or the Northeast region (maybe?) that includes NY, Vermont, etc. I did have a Paint before (of the TB type), so I have actually been thinking about all of this for a long time. He probably would have been a good candidate for endurance (body-wise) but his legs and joints were pretty battered I think when he was young, before I got him...once I started doing more serious conditioning he would come up lame for a day or two, then be o.k. for a week or so (had a lot of trouble with his hocks). I had been without a horse for a year and trying to save up some money for another, when my boyfriend surprised me with a Paint filly as a Christmas/birthday present...so I have awhile before she competes, but like all baby horse owners, I have high hopes for her :) I will try to start working on a letter for APHA and the Paint Horse Journal....I have a few contracts to draft right now, on top of regular work and stuff, but I am encouraged by the your enthusiastic response, Penny!
