Re: Worth every penny

Cindy (and others)

I've been competing in the MD/PA/VA area in endurance and CTR for almost 20 years, and have never had nor been asked for a health certificate. Some states seem to be more rigid than others, but I have never even known of a 2-horse trailer being stopped for health papers. Others may have had different experiences, of course.

This will be my first ride season, and I've just scheduled an appointment
with the vet. Thanks to this list, I knew to ask about the intranasal
strangles vaccine. (For non-traveling horses, my vet has generally stopped
giving the IM version due to adverse reactions.) And since this strangles
vaccine is given in two doses, we're going to split the other vaccinations
between those two visits. He suggested this, and he didn't need to explain
the reason because of what I'd learned on Ridecamp.

I'm planning LD's and ECTRA CTR's in MD/PA/VA, so I'll also need monthly
<gulp!> health certificates beginning in April. Without all of you, I
wouldn't even have known about to ask about that.

A yearly $10 is dirt cheap to be a part of this community.
