Re: Lightning
Horses standing under trees that are struck by lightning will die. I live in
the piney woods of East Texas and when the storms are heavy, someone will lose
livestock. I have a good friend who lost several cows and 4 horses to two
different lightning strikes. He was devasted. Lovell's horse was probably
just far enough away from the strike to have been knocked out--and having iron
on his feet didn't help either. He will probably be muscle sore and stiff for
a few days and perhaps slightly disoriented but still alive.
