Hi maerican friends,

Many thanks for your congratulations that I will forward to my gorgeous horse ORFEO. He deserves it ...

His story has been a dramatic one : I bought him 2 years ago when I had no more horse to ride because my mare was with a foal and my stallion was having tying up problems all the time. And at the same time I had to ride in order to condition myself for riding the Tevis with Steph.
Orfeo was to sell and no one was willing to buy him because during a ride with his previuos rider he came back alone to the barn, his rider felt and was killed! I didn't care for this bad sign and bought him.
After LSD conditioning, we did 2 50 miles, but I must say that he had dificult to finish (he had no muscles at the hing legs and going uphill was very dificult for him). Then I condtioned him in the hills and he improved dramatically.

Then a first 75 miles, then a 100 miles... The Dubai and the 5th place by team with Belgium. Then a win on a 100 miles. Then a top ten in a very competitive ride in France. Then this european Championship. I must say that at each ride, he improved his speed and recovery capabilities... I remember the words of Steph when she was crewing for us in Dubai .... ' Leo, this is a good horse !!!!'.
