so then I thought about it, and I agree with Karen (sorry Angie <G>):
Here's what mine consume that I bring with me:
20-25 lbs of bermuda grass hay (One horse eats closer to 20 the other one,
25)
2 lbs equine senior
2lbs beet pulp
1lb oats
the above 5 lbs fed as slurry with electrolytes added
This does not count what they eat at away vet checks; gotta be 2-3 lbs of
hay/bran/carrots at each vet check.
30 lbs per day seems about right.
However, they get the same diet at home, minus the equine senior and the
"away vet checks" food, so that's maybe 6lbs more food per day at a ride
than at home.
I have not yet done a multiday, but I just bought a bale bag so I can take a
whole extra bale along when I do!
