I believe that it is not at all clear that it is better to start a green horse in a CTR where a horse
starts down the trail every 30 seconds and you have little choice where you start, vs. starting 10
minutes after the last horse has gone out in an LD. Green horses that "just have to catch the horse in
front" will try to catch the horse in front, and then there is another 30 seconds and another 30
seconds in front, etc.

While a CTR provides a good format for new riders/horses, it is not clear to me that it is the best
format for a green horse given that the rider has a lick of sense.
