I don't know, a 95% accuracy rate doesn't seem that great to me. If I'm on
a ride with 200 horses that means that 10 of them aren't going to be
accurate. Multiply that by three or four vet checks and you've got a
pretty high rate of inaccuracy. I've used a monitor for a lot of miles
over the years and while they may be accurate *when they are working
properly* anybody that's ridden with one a lot can tell you that they are
subject to all sorts of problems and causes to give inaccurate readings.
Taking a pulse with a stethoscope isn't rocket science. Any horse person
should be able to take a pulse with a stethoscope. How did anybody ever
manage to put on endurance rides before the advent of all this new hi-tech
equipment? geeeez......
