Girth swelling
Dear Wise Ones,
I have a question, and I just know someone out there will have words of
wisdom. On Wednesday I rode my mare 22 miles after four days off. She
did great, but I discovered a soft swelling about 2 inches across where
the girth goes low on the right side. It is approximately where I put
the heart monitor. I didn't ride her yesterday, and today the swelling
is still there, and very sensitive to the touch. I put the saddle on,
and she flinched, and she was walking funny, so I switched it to the
mare I was ponying and ponied her instead.
Any idea what is causing it? Is it the monitor? Ideas to fix it?
Prevent it?
Thanks for your help.
Anna and Well Seen
