Re: Preventing scratches
Wait a minute, I thought clipping was only to be used if scratches already
had a hold, not as a preventative measure. And clipping what? The fetlock
hair? Isn't that there to protect that area? I would think clipping that
would leave the area vulnerable to scratches?
And desitin does NOT work on my horse to clear up scratches. We've been
putting it on every day for the past month and NO change. Back to archives
for more remedies.

Desitin will hold dirt, sand and foreign material. The best way to NOT have
scratches is to keep the area CLEAN. I.E. wash the area and dry it often.
Clipping is HIGHLY recommended.
