Question about "second sweat" from Barb Peck

RE: Second sweat
17 year old Morgan, who'd ridden alot fo miles (probably
1000/season).
The last 2 rides he's been on with us (probably 15 or so miles)
sweats up more than any other horse. After the ride the owner
washing him down and usually stalls him after about 20 minutes
of walking.
2 hrs. later, this horse's skin is cool, but he's wet on the chest and up one side of the neck. It's got to be sweat, and it's
indicating he's under stress somehwere, Right?
What does second sweat indicate? Metabolic or muscle problems
or both?
