24 hours is fine.

That sounds fine, although if you're feeding wheat bran for laxative
effects, don't count on it---wheat bran in fact does not increase water
content of the poop, so it's value is just as another form of grain.
Most multi days only

That probably goes a really long ways towards your success.

That's pretty much what I feed, too, though my five horses go through a bale
of alfalfa maybe once every six months.
