Monika;

I really like the alternative to English leathers called "Webbers".  They 
were made originally for the synthetic saddle Wintec.  They are great because 
they are made of synthetic material that doesn't stretch and the buckle is 
down at the bottom not the top and they are only single thickness rather than 
two.  There is a small loop at the top to go over the stirrup bar.  They come 
in different lengths so be aware.  They aren't cheap but comparable to good 
leathers.  Don't have any problem matching with real leather saddle either.
