Quality of discussion
I agree with this. The quality of discussion on ridecamp has deteriorated
recently. It is almost as though people are frightened to offer an opinion for
fear of either being jumped on and savaged or else told oh no we discussed
that last year.
If there is a subject on ridecamp that I feel I don't want to participate in
or feel I know enough about or whatever I just delete those messages unread.
Maybe it's because we are all competeing at the moment that things are quieter
but I don't think so.
Bye
Annette

Sigh...
OK, I'll be the poop at the party. Just because it is easy to create a
list doesn't
mean that it is a good idea to create it. What we have going on here is
an increasing Balkanization of the constituency of Ridecamp.
I am interested in buying a Sport Saddle and I had assumed that I could
get any question I had about them answered right here. It's been true for
years.
Now a new list has been created and I'll likely have to go to that list to
get
the same questions answered. Why? What purpose does this serve?
Is it really true that the people on Ridecamp aren't interested in talking
about
Sports Saddles anymore?
Never mind me. Just doing my Cassandra act. But notice how the variety
and fervor of discussion on this group has declined in the last six to
eight
months? There are a number of reasons for this, but one of them seems
to be that people just aren't willing to discuss topics in the same depth
as they used to be. I was particularly astonished that a new person with
a new heart rate monitor asked about what constitutes "normal" pulses and
*not one* person answered in public!
And now the Sports Saddle discussions are migrating to their own group?
