How do you guard your necessary important items? Should I carry my wallet
and keys with me on the Ride?

I frequently forget to do this, but when I'm feeling security conscious I
lock everything up and hide my keys in a really tricky little spot on my
horse trailer. No thief going through a ride camp is going to risk searching
for the keys, so usually that is enough security. My dog is usually there,
but I think given a little prompting he would show a would-be thief WHERE I
hide the keys! Sorry you had that type of experience -- I do think it's rare
-- probably somebody not associated with the ride got light fingered (I like
to think that's the case, anyway).
