I agree with your first paragraph, but strongly disagree with your
second one. Endurance lines ARE beginning to emerge, just as racing,
show, etc. did. I personally would not bother breeding my good
endurance mares to a stallion who has not done as well as they have in
endurance or racing(Preferably endurance because I know he can take
all the stresses, that go with this very special sport)I want BOTH
in the stallion I breed to. I want a performance endurance record, and
if possible, I want a heritage that says"he can pass it on to my
foals". Why would you try to breed a future endurance champion and
start "blind" without starting with the best you can possibly get?
Doesn't make any sense to me! No other disciplines that are serious
about their breeding ignore records and genes! Why would endurance
breeders?
