Saddles, white spots, all that jazz
Hey!
I've been off ridecamp for a few months and low and behold there's still
the never ending battle of the saddles. Count me among the ranks of
people who have now spent more money solving back problems than buying
the horse to put them on. In case anyone remembers, my horse was the one
who had a reaction to the pad/saddle combo and lost all of the hair on
her back! Not pretty! To make a long story short, I switched to a Sports
Saddle and 100% wool Skito pad. So far so good. After 170 miles so far,
my horse has no more white spots, no heat bumps, no soreness, and A's on
back. I am much more comfortable and no longer taking drugs for my feet
and knees. I must agree that the saddle looks huge, but I'm getting used
to it and really enjoy riding in it. Unfortunately, I have come to
believe that this saddle thing is really an individual problem. No one
saddle will solve everyone's problem. So for the few of you out there
who have saddle issues, I can relate, it's the pits! Good luck!
