Hello all,
I posted a question a few weeks back about Lyme disease but didn't
see any responses. Perhaps I jinxed my horse because - guess what-
she was just diagnosed with Lyme disease. We are starting her today
on massive doses of antibiotics, orally. If the titer does not come
down, we will have to administer them 2x day via IV. She is lame in
the hind end, just ouchy looking, which may or may not be due to the
Lyme. So, I'll ask again, anybody have any experience with Lyme
disease and can someone recommend a brand of Probiotic to use
concomitantly with the doxycyclian? She is on stall rest with
hand walking for the next week, since she has insisted upon running
herself about with the rest of the horses despite the lameness. I am
afraid of colic and am hoping the probiotics will lend some
protection. Thoughts?? Help!!!
Thanks from Klassy and Beth
