RE: Lyme Disease and Probiotics

Beth,
I have no personal experience with Lyme disease but a horse of a close
friend contracted it around two years ago. He was on large dosage of
Doxycyclian for 3-4 months. He was not put on probiotics at that time.
However, it is believed that the antibiotics caused problems in his
intestinal tract. He developed a chroic diarrhea problem. When he had access
to green grass the diarrhea would nearly disappear but everytime he was
strickly on hay the diarrhea came back with a vengence. The vet put him on
A.B.C.'s Probio, an easy to feed liquid that doesn't need to be
refridgerated. This clears the diarrhea right up. This vet does like this
brand. I've seen it work. Same vet did not suggest it's use during treatment
which seems a shame as the problem may have been prevented? Other friends
horse contracted EPM and horse lost a lot of weight during long term
treatment although she didn't develope diarrhea. I personally think this
horse could have benefited from the Probio but vet didn't suggest it and
owner didn't want to spend the money. What a shame. Try A.B.C.'s product.
